Randy Burman exhibe cuatro cajas de su serie Shibui Boxes que, como su nombre en japonés indica, adaptan al mundo occidental a ese equilibrio sutil entre complejidad y simpleza en que se soporta la estética asiática. Una de las más bellas, sin dudas, es una suerte de haiku visual: Bridge of 100 Matchsticks, que en una de las múltiples alegorías recuerda que, cuando uno avanza con determinación, “los puentes quemados alumbran el camino final.”

Randy Burman displays four boxes of his Shibui Boxes series, as its name indicates in Japanese and as understood by the Western world as that subtle balance between complexity and simplicty. One of the most beautiful, without doubt, is a kind of visual haiku: Bridge of 100 Matchsticks, in one of many allegories recalls that when one moves with determination, “burned bridges light the final path.”
